What to know before you ride
Scooters up to 125cc need an A1 licence, up to 300cc an A2, above 300cc A2/A depending on power; the ATV needs only a car licence (B). EU licences are accepted directly; visitors from outside the EU should carry an International Driving Permit together with their national licence.
Greek law requires helmets for rider and passenger on scooters and ATVs. We provide them; please wear them, even for short rides.
At pickup we go over the vehicle together: brakes, lights, tyres and existing marks. Take a photo if you like. It takes two minutes and avoids any discussion later.
Petrol stations are common along the coast but sparse in the mountains. Fill up before heading inland to villages such as Embonas or the Profitis Ilias area.
The east-coast road is wide and easy. Mountain roads are scenic but narrow with tight bends; ride within your limits. ATVs are stable but not fast: keep to the right and let cars pass.
Motor vehicles are not allowed inside the medieval walls of Rhodes Old Town. Park outside the gates and walk in; two-wheelers make this much easier than a car.
Summer sun in Rhodes is strong. Carry water and sunscreen, and note that the west coast is windier than the east, which matters on a scooter.
