How to rent an ATV or scooter in Rhodes: licences, helmets, fuel and booking online
Renting a quad or scooter should be the easiest part of your holiday. This is the short version of everything people ask us before booking; the full details are always on our rental guide and FAQ pages.
1. Which licence do I need?
It depends on the vehicle, and the exact requirement is shown on every vehicle page. As a rule for our scooters: up to 125cc a category A1 licence (or higher), up to 300cc category A2, above 300cc category A2 or A depending on power. For the ODESS 650cc ATV check the licence line on its page or ask us. Equivalent licences from other countries are accepted; visitors from outside the EU need an International Driving Permit together with their national licence. If in doubt, ask us on WhatsApp before you book.
2. Minimum age
Riders must hold a valid licence for the vehicle they book. The minimum age for each vehicle is shown on its page and confirmed with you at booking.
3. What is included
- Helmets for rider and passenger, mandatory in Greece.
- A quick briefing on the controls at pickup.
- Prices shown per day and per season, with no hidden extras.
4. Fuel
Vehicles are handed over with fuel in the tank and should be returned with a similar level; fuel used is paid by the renter. Our driving tips list where the fuel stations are on the island.
5. Booking online
- Choose your dates on the vehicles page; only available vehicles are shown.
- Pick the model, check the price for your dates and season.
- Enter your details and pay securely by card, or choose to pay at pickup.
- You receive a confirmation email with your booking number.
6. At pickup
Bring your licence, ID or passport and the booking confirmation. We go through the vehicle together, fit the helmets and show you the controls. Then you are off: our east-coast route is the classic first day.
7. Changes and cancellations
Plans change; email us as early as possible and we will adjust or cancel according to our rental terms.
8. Which vehicle?
125cc scooter: town, short coastal rides, one rider. 300–400cc scooter: comfortable for two on long rides to Lindos or Prasonisi. 650cc ATV: two adults in comfort, automatic, stable on longer road trips — road use only. Compare them all on our ATVs and scooters page.
