Rhodes without a car: airport and hotel delivery, and how to get around on two wheels
Many of our guests arrive with one question: "Can we skip the hire car?" For a couple or a solo traveller, yes — and it is usually the better holiday. Here is how it works in practice.
Delivery where you land
We deliver anywhere on the island at no extra cost: Rhodes airport (Diagoras), the cruise and ferry port, or your hotel in Rhodes town, Ixia, Ialyssos, Faliraki, Lindos and beyond. You tell us the place and time when you book; we meet you there with the vehicle, two helmets and the paperwork. Pickup at the end of the holiday works the same way, back at the airport if you like.
Luggage on arrival day
Riding from the airport with suitcases is not fun. The sensible routine: take a taxi or the bus to the hotel with your bags, and have the scooter or ATV delivered to the hotel an hour later — or the next morning if you land late. Both are free. If you travel with a backpack only, airport delivery is perfect.
Distances between the resorts
Rhodes is bigger than people expect, but the main roads are good. Roughly: airport to Rhodes town 15 km, town to Faliraki 15 km, Faliraki to Lindos 35 km, Lindos to Prasonisi 45 km. A 300cc scooter or a 650cc ATV covers all of them comfortably; a 125cc is ideal if your base is town or Faliraki. See our local pages for Faliraki, Lindos and Rhodes town.
Fuel, parking, helmets
Petrol stations are everywhere on the east coast and in every large village. Parking is free almost everywhere outside the town centre, and a two-wheeler fits where cars cannot. Helmets are included and compulsory — wear them, it is also the law.
Documents to bring
Your driving licence (A1/A2/A for scooters by engine size, car licence B for the ATV), passport or ID, and the card you booked with. Everything else is explained in our rental guide and FAQ.
Book before you fly
In July and August our fleet is often fully booked a week ahead. Check live availability for your dates on the vehicles page, pay a small deposit online and your ride is waiting when you land.
